styles of Painting, Sculpting, Giclee, Printing, Mixed Media,
Holographics and the brilliance of Metallics into an new style of
art. If you would like to know more about Textures, read on. Thank you
How It All Began:
Formerly, Textures had been replicating original oil paintings and other textured artworks
since 1998 using a proprietary replication process invented at 3M
Company by the founder of our company. In early 1995 our business
plan was selected by the University of Wisconsin for participation in
the University's new business incubator program where product,
process, and business development activities were continued,
ultimately being completed in early 1998; thereafter, Textures was a faithful provider of replicated, high-end, fine art for many
of the world's finest artists.
Evolving Technology:
Although our technology was originally used to create exact replicated
surfaces and imagery of fine art oil paintings, a multitude of other
diverse products and applications were identified and constructed
using this technology. They include picture matting, frame coverings,
place-mats, wall coverings, furniture surfaces, decorative components
for fashion items such as handbags, footwear, clothing
embellishments, and others where three dimensional texture is
desired. An interesting example of our work is the replication of
General Mills' original Betty Crocker wooden cutting board, where
precise replication was not only required but demanded, since the
need was to increase General Mills' photo laboratory advertising and
packaging graphics output. The replica is indistinguishable from the
original board, and is most likely still in use today.
Textures Today:
This unique technology is still in use today at Textures, however it is now being used by our artist to continually create novel pieces of wall art.
